In the Chair® is a multi-award winning music technology company delivering platforms for online musical performance and participation.

In the Chair's patent pending technology provides its products with the ability to listen to a musical performance, on a real analogue instrument, and make real time judgments on pitch, tone, timing, duration and dynamics.

The first product incorporating In the Chair technology is StarPlay™ - music education software that lets you practice by performing with professional musicians, bands and orchestras. Be part of the band - hear the other musicians as you watch the video from your chosen spot - StarPlay listens to your performance and helps you perfect the piece with feedback as you play.

In the Chair also has rock guitar and karaoke products in development.

In January 2007, In the Chair finalized a partnership with Sibelius Software Ltd (An Avid Company), developers of the world's leading music notation software, to distribute and co-develop StarPlay. The collaboration between the software engineers of both companies incorporated Sibelius's Scorch® technology into StarPlay - the standard for web delivery of sheet music - giving teachers and students the ability to play a massive library of music including their own compositions.

In the Chair is headquartered in South Australia and incorporated its San Francisco based US subsidiary in July 2006.
